A nationwide warranty supplier helping consumers find the right programs for their vehicle protection needs.
All brand new vehicles come with an original equipment manufacturer’s warranty (also known as a Factory warranty). Most of them usually last for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the in-service date (date of purchase).
Different Makes or Manufacturers (Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, etc.) will have different length factory warranties.
For example, most Makes have a 3 year / 36,000 mile full-coverage warranty. Meaning that anything that breaks on a vehicle within 3 years or 36,000 miles of purchasing it will be covered by the factory.
Other Makes like Cadillac have a 4 year / 50,000 mile warranty.
Other Makes like Hyundai have a 5 year / 60,000 mile warranty.
There is a great site that lists out all the different Makes (manufacturers) and what they provide for their full-coverage factory warranty at Factory Warranty List: https://www.factorywarrantylist.com/
Bookmark that website so you can sound like the expert when talking to a consumer. If they aren’t familiar with how long their factory warranty lasts – then look it up on that site and tell them.
There is a reason why most factory warranties expire at 3 years or 36,000 miles – it’s because manufacturers intentionally build cars so they break down. Why? Because they make more money that way.
