At SCC, there is a culture of consistent learning. Sales is a skill that is taught and learned. No one is born with innate sales ability. Although it pays to be outgoing and confident in sales, you can still learn those traits. Which is why we take a 2-Method Approach to training.
We teach sales skills and product knowledge in order of Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced using modules. For example, this course that you are reading now is a module. This module gives you information on the Company, Role, and Compensation. It should only take approximately 30-45 minutes to go through this module. Once you do, you can move into the next module.
The other method we use is real-world training. We find the best way to get better at a job or skill is to put it into practice. So, every day you come to work you’ll be required to practice the tactics we teach by hopping on the phones and applying what you’ve learned. You will make mistakes, and that’s okay, but you need context around what you are learning so you can apply it in a real world setting. The modular training will help you do the job and the experience of being on the phones will help you learn – it’s one big repetitive cycle.
Remember – repetition is the mother of all skill.
